AUTORITÉ DE RÉGULATION


Pursuant to the 2001-18 law , the Regulatory Authority is a legal person of public law, independent, endowed with financial and managerial autonomy, governed by the special status defined by this Law. It is attached to the Prime Minister.
 The Regulatory Authority is responsible for regulating the activities within the territory of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania in the sectors of water, electricity, telecommunications, mail, and any other area which the law gives jurisdiction. 
The Regulatory Authority’s mission is entrusted to take the necessary measures to ensure compliance with provisions of laws and regulations governing areas under its competence in an objective, transparent and non-discriminatory.
The operational directions of the ARE are structured around departments, subdivided into departments. 
- The Telecommunications and Post Office.
- The Electricity and Water Department.
- The Administrative and Financial Department.
